For a Pixel 9, 10 or 11: model-specific full-adhesive glass, then re-register your fingerprints. Why the sensor type matters
Optical sensors light up your finger and photograph it through the glass. Anything that blocks or scatters light gets in the way, especially privacy filters and very thick glass. Ultrasonic sensors send sound through the glass and don't mind a privacy filter, but an air pocket between protector and screen scatters the signal. That's why "full adhesive" is the phrase to look for on current Pixels.
Whichever type you have, re-register your fingerprints after fitting: Settings → Security & privacy → Device unlock → Fingerprint Unlock. If it's still unreliable, switch on Increase touch sensitivity in Display settings.

Choice is thinner than for iPhone or Galaxy
Pixels sell in smaller numbers in the UK than iPhones or Galaxies, so fewer premium brands make Pixel protectors, and some models get none from the likes of Belkin or ZAGG. That's another reason to lean on brands that do sell for your exact model rather than "universal 6.3-inch" glass.

Does a privacy screen protector work on a Pixel?

Do the Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro share a screen protector?
