What's collected

We don't have accounts or comments, and we don't sell or share personal data.
The visitor counter is our own, running on our own server. It sets no cookies and stores nothing that could identify you or follow you between pages or visits — only daily totals. Most of what reaches this site is not a person at all, and the counter exists mainly to tell readers apart from the search engines and AI crawlers that make up the bulk of the traffic.
Google Analytics (only if you accept)
Only if you accept in the cookie banner, we also use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. If you accept, Google sets analytics cookies (named _ga and _ga_…) in your browser and receives your IP address, the pages you view and basic device and location information. If you decline, or ignore the banner, no analytics cookies are set and nothing is sent to Google. You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. Third parties
- Google Fonts: pages load typefaces from Google's servers, which receive your IP address as part of that request.
- Amazon: if you click an affiliate link, Amazon sets its own cookies to attribute purchases. Amazon's privacy notice applies once you're on its site.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask what personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Email us. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
If we add anything else that collects data, we'll update this page first. Last reviewed 3 November 2026, when the consent-based Google Analytics described above was added.
