Buy glass listed for the Galaxy S26 (not S26+ or S25) that states ultrasonic fingerprint support, and re-register your prints after fitting. The S26's display grew to 6.3 inches, so S25 glass won't cover it properly.

Unlike the Ultra, the S26 has no built-in Privacy Display and no anti-reflective Gorilla Armor front. That makes the choice simpler: ordinary clear glass suits it well, and a privacy protector is a fair option if you want one.
The one thing to get right: the sensor
Ultrasonic sensors read the ridges of your finger with sound, so they're sensitive to air gaps. Glass with adhesive only round the rim leaves an air pocket right over the sensor, which is the most common reason a cheap protector "breaks" fingerprint unlock. Look for full adhesive or "fingerprint compatible" in the listing, then:
- Fit the protector and press out any air from the centre towards the edges.
- Go to Settings → Security and privacy → Biometrics → Fingerprints and delete your saved prints.
- Register them again through the protector. The ultrasonic sensor then learns what your finger looks like through the extra layer.
- If unlocking is still slow, turn on Settings → Display → Touch sensitivity.

Questions people ask
Do Galaxy S25 screen protectors fit the S26?
No. The S26 has a larger 6.3-inch display and a bigger body (149.6 × 71.7 mm), so S25 glass leaves exposed edges and misaligns with the sensor.
Does the Galaxy S26 have Privacy Display like the Ultra?
No. Privacy Display is an S26 Ultra feature. On the S26, a privacy protector is the only way to get side-view blocking.
