Short answer
Lift a corner with a fingernail or plastic card and peel slowly. For cracked glass, cover it in clear tape first. For UV glass, warm it gently with a hairdryer on low. Clean leftover adhesive with isopropyl alcohol on a microfibre cloth. Never use metal tools.
