Top three: for fingerprint compatibility certainty, get the Samsung Official tempered glass. For best installation, Spigen EZ Fit. For curved-edge perfectionists (Edge variant), Whitestone Dome Glass.
The S25 Ultra's protector challenges
Samsung's 2025 flagship moved to a fully flat display (no Edge curve like the Note legacy phones), making aftermarket protector fitting easier than any Ultra before it. But two things still complicate matters:
- The ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor reads through the screen using sound waves. Thick or low-quality glass attenuates the signal, leading to slow recognition and frustration. Always recalibrate fingerprints after fitting (Settings → Biometrics → delete all → re-add).
- The S Pen. The S Pen has its own pressure and tilt detection that should work normally through any glass — but cheap unbranded protectors with rough surfaces can cause false touch events when the Pen tip hovers.

S25 Ultra vs S25 Edge — different approach needed
The S25 Edge variant brings back the curved display. For the Edge model, only Samsung Official, Whitestone Dome, or a high-quality TPU film will give a true edge-to-edge fit. Standard flat tempered glass will lift at the curves. The protectors above are flat-screen S25 Ultra-specific.
Fingerprint sensor: the recalibration step matters
This is the single most-asked question for Galaxy users. After fitting any new screen protector:
- Open Settings → Biometrics and Security → Fingerprints.
- Verify your phone unlock with the existing print, then remove every stored fingerprint.
- Re-register your prints. The phone calibrates the ultrasonic depth to the new total screen + protector thickness.
This single step solves around 95% of "my fingerprint stopped working" complaints after fitting an aftermarket protector.
