How the 17e differs from the rest of the range
The 17e launched in March 2026 as the entry-level model. It is the only current iPhone with a notch rather than a Dynamic Island. For accessories, it belongs with the 16e, not the 17.

What to buy
This is a phone people buy to spend less, and the protector should match that. Plain 9H tempered glass from a known budget brand does the job. Premium glass mostly adds a stronger warranty or extra toughness, which makes more sense on a Pro-priced phone.
A note on the notch
Some older notch-era protectors had a cut-out over the earpiece and sensors. Current glass for the 16e and 17e generally covers the whole front, and Face ID works through it normally. If a listing shows a notch-shaped cut-out, it's usually recycled artwork from an older model: check the model list in the description.
Upgrading from an older iPhone?
Your old protectors won't carry over unless you're coming from a 16e. The iPhone 14 used the same outer dimensions, but don't assume its glass fits unless the maker lists the 17e. Button placement and edge profiles can change even when the body measurements match.
